Release announcement: “Candle", by Chris Luther

My song “Candle” is being released this Friday May 29, 2026 on all streaming platforms. Join me for a live stream on Twitch at 7:00 p.m. est.

“Candle”, is the first song I wrote for a space folk collection. I eventually called this collection the “Terrestrial Series”. This series is a collection of spiritual ballads, songs and chants that came from my writings between 2020 and 2023. The first draft for this song is dated January 23, 2023 but the series had started earlier than that. I think this song is what brought the series into focus. 

“Candle”, is a song devoted to spiritual awakening, peace and protection. I remember I had just started to study more about paganism and Wicca around the time this song came to me. I wrote this song after recovering from the Covid during the week of the solstice in 2022. The feeling was like someone was protecting me and I wanted to give back something.

I use this song in my own rituals as a kind of protection chant for any occasion. I hope this song brings some amount of peace to this world no matter what spirituality or religion you practice.
