Chris Luther grew up in Greensboro N.C. and studied many forms of music including Country, Rock, Jazz, Punk, Ska and music for Film. His experiences led him to the University of  North Carolina at Wilmington. Chris graduated in 2007 and became the house guitarist for Benny Hills Jazz jam at the Rusty Nail from 2008 - 2021.

    Chris also performed in various downtown Wilmington restaurants including, The Platypus and Gnome, Tarantelli’s, The Cheese Board, The Blockade Runner Beach and now at the Commodore Club on Wrightsville Beach.

     Chris has performed twice for WHQR’s Soup to Nuts live radio program. His last radio performance was in 2017 with his gypsy jazz trio Cafe Nouveau. In 2019 Chris composed various waltzes, standards, and dance music while studying gypsy jazz guitar at Smith College in Massachusetts. His album, “Songs of The Night Rose," was released in March of 2020.

    Chris has been writing songs and composing more recently. He has released many singles and is working on an album to be released in 2025.
